Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (ATES) systems have a large contribution in HVAC systems in the Netherlands. However, they are often experienced as complex systems. Do these systems help us achieve a large potential in energy savings?

Based on a simple and uniform data analysis, Dave Baas from Renor will show how to assess the performance of the ATES system in a simple overview and with data that is always available for each system.

Brains 4 Buildings is a multi-year, multi-stakeholder program focused on developing methods to harness big data from smart meters, building management systems and the Internet of Things devices, to reduce energy consumption, increase comfort, respond flexibly to user behaviour and local energy supply and demand, and save on installation maintenance costs. This will be done through the development of faster and more efficient Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence models and algorithms. The project is geared to utility buildings such as commercial and institutional buildings.
