Brains4Buildings webinar – Harnessing UDMI Methodology to make buildings smart

Datum

Brains 4 Buildings organiseert maandelijkse webinars waarin deskundigen allerlei actuele onderwerpen met betrekking tot slimme gebouwen belichten.

Let op: dit webinar is in het engels. Hieronder de engelse beschrijving van het webinar.

Universal Device Management Interface (UDMI) enables high specification communication between devices for the management and operation of physical IoT systems.  By implementing the UDMI Schema it streamlines operations, improves efficiency, and reduces maintenance costs.

Conventional visual interfaces have historically been associated with the problem of limited access to data.  This occurs as software normally needs to be installed on a user's pc or communication device.  Without software, the data cannot be accessed. This leads to issues for building managers and owners when thinking about how to best manage their buildings efficiently and cost effectively whilst providing comfort and wellbeing for the occupants.

UDMI removes the ties to one solution and opens the possibilities for building managers to make their smart buildings future proof.

This webinar will discuss the components of UDMI compliance and the benefits of introducing such a solution to 'Smart Enable' a building, whether it is in development, or a retrofit project is underway.

We will also showcase some of the tools we have introduced into our Analytics and Reporting platform for Device Automated Qualification, Device onboarding and continual commissioning.

Speakers: Ged Tyrrell and Susan Gibson (Tyrrell Building Technologies)

Brains 4 Buildings

Brains 4 Buildings is a multi-year, multi-stakeholder program focused on developing methods to harness big data from smart meters, building management systems and the Internet of Things devices, to reduce energy consumption, increase comfort, respond flexibly to user behaviour and local energy supply and demand, and save on installation maintenance costs. This will be done through the development of faster and more efficient Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence models and algorithms. The project is geared to utility buildings such as commercial and institutional buildings.
