Standaard CO2-emissies voorgesteld

Aangemaakt op: 13 maa 2009

Environmental assessment agencies in Australia, Britain and the U.S. are forging a standardization agreement for measuring the environmental impact of buildings. At the EcoBuild 2009 convention, in London, last week, the Building Research Establishment, the Green Building Council of Australia, the U.K. Green Building Council and the U.S. Green Building Council agreed to work together to establish common metrics for measuring carbon-dioxide emissions from new homes and buildings. This sets the stage for true progress by focusing on performance that is measurable and verifiable, said Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council, in a prepared statement. As we work to alleviate the role buildings play in climate change nearly 39 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States it’s vital that we are able to measure carbon emissions in a consistent, reliable way.
