Europees rapport zoomt in op kostenoptimalisatie van duurzaam bouwen
Aangemaakt op: 10 mei 2011The European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ECEEE) heeft het rapport ‘Cost optimal building performance requirements’ gepubliceerd. Het rapport is eceee’s bijdrage aan ‘A European wide methodology for setting building performance standards based on the principles of cost optimality.’
“Most of the building codes in Europe fail to catch the energy savings that could be achieved without wasting money. Instead, today’s building standards lead to losses for consumers, a more energy insecure Europe and more harm for the environment”, zegt Nils Borg, eceee’s Executive Director.
Serious business
“While cost optimality may sound like a simple technical exercise, it is far from it”, reageert Thomas Boermans van Ecofys, de organisatie die een groot deel van de input leverde voor dit rapport. “The principle of cost optimality is serious business, requires a suitable methodology and common understanding. If we get it right, European buildings will save vast amounts of energy and costs.”
